Hiding your desktop allow you get your entropy sensible place ever clean like that :

a clean desktop (geektools activated)

To do so, simply open the terminal and type :
defaults write com.apple.finder CreateDesktop -bool false

Then restart finder (right clic on finder, quit, …).
